Auto Insurance Leads Cape Coral Florida FL
Reader’s Question:
I am driving a refurbished car in Cape Coral, Florida and a mustang rear-ended me. Apparently, it was not my fault. This made me upset since my insurance premium shoot up because of this. I am wondering why did my auto insurer penalize me when clearly the accident was not my fault.

It is possible that you might be penalized not because of that specific rear-ending accident in Cape Carol, FL, instead, because of past traffic violation or other accidents long time ago.
Do you believe that you have a pristine driving record in Florida? If that is so, then it is almost impossible that your premiums would be raised after an accident that you are not to blame for.
However, if you committed a traffic violation or a fender bender before that accident, then you would most likely see a raise in your insurance premium rates in Florida.
So next question is how long will you have a warning after a particular accident in Florida. It is up to your local insurer. If you had an accident that was your fault several years prior to this accident that you are telling was not your fault, your auto insurer would most likely evaluate you as accident-prone, thus increase your insurance premium.
Remember that the time between accidents differs from one company to another.
Please be reminded that the authorities decide who’s at fault all the time. You can say that you are not to be blamed or the other party was the reckless one but only them can make that generalization. Finally, whoever gets the bill for the accident is always the one at fault.
